Turks and Caicos: New Guidelines
The Turks and Caicos Government, in partnership with Carnival Cruise Line, has implemented new guidelines for public access to the Grand Turk Cruise Center (GTCC), effective August 15, 2024. These rules are to enhance security and ensure a pleasant experience for both visitors and cruise passengers.
Key Guidelines for Public Access:
- One-Day ID Badge: Public access to GTCC during operating hours (when a cruise ship is in port) is restricted to those with a one-day identification (ID) badge.
- Entrance and ID Requirements: Access is only available through the main entrance, where the ID badge will be issued free of charge. Visitors 18 years and older must present a valid government ID. Minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult with a valid ID.
- Code of Conduct Compliance: Visitors must adhere to the GTCC’s code of conduct, which includes no business activities, illegal activities, public nuisances, weapons, or abusive language. Violations will lead to immediate removal and a minimum three-month ban from the premises.
Important Notes:
- Security Enforcement: The GTCC’s officers will issue ID badges at the main entrance. Anyone found on the premises without an ID badge will be removed and referred to law enforcement.
- Strict Compliance: All visitors must strictly follow the code of conduct. Violations will result in the immediate revocation of access and a three-month suspension from obtaining a visitor badge.
